The second installment of Janette Rallison's "The Fair Godmother" series only gets better. Rallison did a remarkable job of developing her characters and creating an intriguing plot that interwove Robin Hood and Rumpelstiltskin's tales perfectly. The dialogue was witty and amusing. The plot was not too predictable but similar enough that it did not lose what made the first book great. I could not put this book down. The book was well-paced and each chapter concluded on a suspenseful note that you breezed right through to the final chapter without even realizing it.

You cannot help but develop affection for all the characters, especially Tansy. Her rebellion was expected but nothing so extreme that you would not be sympathetic towards her. Tansy showed a lot of growth as she muddled through the mess her wishes made. Hudson was a decent hero. I found him arrogant at the start and took half the book before he started to become somewhat likeable. It was only near the end that I kind of started to like him. I think the build up of romance took a bit too long. However, I did like the way the author intertwined Hudson and Tansy near the end was really sweet. I won't ruin it but it was a cute symbolism of their future together. There were a lot of side characters but they didn't overwhelm the story. No characters were wasted and all helped moved the plot along.

If you have read and liked/loved the first book, then you will definitely love this. I would also suggest this to anyone who likes their stories blended together with romance, action, humor and fairy tales. Overall, another winner from Janette Rallison.

Well, I am writing this review at 2 am. All you readers out there. What does that tell you. Yes, I read into the wee hours of the morning. This was another great hit from Rallison. Can’t wait to read the third adventure with Chrissy. Rallison writes a twist to a good fairly tall with plenty of humor to go around.
This was a cute little book.I truly enjoyed the characters. Ms. Rallison did a good job moving people around in different centuries without it being too far out as not to be believed. There were some good lessons to be learned in the story line.
I really loved this book! It reminded me why Rallison is one of my favorite authors. I was sad when it ended, although it did end with a hint that there might be another book in the series (I sure hope so!). This story follows Tansy and Hudson as they try and figure out how to make the best of Tansy's three wishes. Tansy was of course a likable character. She kind of has a chip on her shoulder when the story begins, but with a little help from her fair godmother, Chrissy, she learns some valuable lessons. The story was a lot of fun, it sucks you in and I had a hard time putting the book down. Hudson was easy to like, he has good values, works hard, and cares about those around him. Oh and he's a hottie. The end had me tear up, and even Hudson learned some interesting things about himself. This is the second book in the series, you could read it on its own, but I'd recommend reading My Fair Godmother first. In fact I would recommend all of Rallison's books, there great!
This was my first Janette Rallison book (checked out from the library when it was first published), and it was a perfect introduction to her hilarious style and satisfying romance. I own a lot of her books now; they are lovely comfort reads.

"My Unfair Godmother" is probably my favorite of the godmother series, in some part because it was the first one I read. I also think the plot works really well in this one, and Tansy is relatable. Also I just find the story incredibly funny (and touching in the right parts, of course). My favorite line is probably (not very spoilery), ""I'm not into you," I said hotly." I die every time.
This is an amusing mix of teenage angst, a mostly incompetent fair (she doesn't qualify as more than that) godmother, and a mix of fairy tales. The moral of this story is mainly 'be careful what you wish for!' though there are others mentioned.

I'm no kid, even my children aren't, but I still enjoyed this, as a light and amusing read.

The previous is the review I did for An Fair Godmother, the book this one is a sequel to, but it also applies to this one. I liked the first so much I paid more than usual for this one, despite my very limited income, and it didn't disappoint. You need not necessarily read these books in order, though I think you probably should. If you like one, you will definitely want to read the other.

I like that both books involve the value of family, that the H and h don't fall madly in lust/love at first sight, but develop feelings for one another over time spent together.

I hope Chrissy gets some more extra credit assignments, and (sorry, Chrissy) that she doesn't pass too quickly. -)
